The Emerald Trail runs through an impressive valley landscape where nature and history are closely intertwined. Along the way, you gain fascinating insights into the formation of the Habach Valley and the world of the green, sparkling emeralds for which the valley is known far beyond the region. You also learn how stone hunting works and where it is permitted. With a little luck, you might even spot marmots or golden eagles along the way. A tour that beautifully combines geological features and impressive nature experiences.

Dense forests, moss-covered floors, and tranquil moorlands characterize this special walk at the end of the Rauris Valley. On narrow paths, you pass ancient stone pines, mighty giant trees, and enchanted-looking clearings that give the area its original character. Along the way, you gain fascinating insights into this unique natural jewel and its development. In some places, the varied landscape is reminiscent of a green jungle – wild, peaceful, and full of life.

- CASTLE TOUR "Kaprun Castle"
July 2 to September 20, 2026 – Kaprun
When you enter Kaprun Castle, it feels as if you are stepping back in time. Centuries-old walls tell stories of knights, counts, and turbulent times. First mentioned in a document from the 13th century, the history of the castle likely goes back even further.
The guided tour of the castle begins at 5:00 PM, accompanied by exciting stories about the history of the building. Afterwards, you can explore the castle grounds, the castle museum, the dungeon, and various photo spots on your own. A particular highlight is the highest point of the keep, from where you can enjoy a unique view over the Zell Basin!

Children's program – Participation and information
There is an online ticket shop where one can participate.
Tickets can also be purchased at the tourist offices in Zell am See (Brucker Bundesstraße 1a, 5700 Zell am See) or Kaprun (Salzburgerplatz 6, 5710 Kaprun).

Cost
- Participation in the program costs €20 per day per child (excluding the children's cinema, which costs €7 per person) .
- For guests with the Zell am See-Kaprun summer map cost of participation in the program €15 .
- A maximum of two accompanying persons per family may participate in the alpaca walk.
- For the “Adventure in the Castle” activity, adults must purchase their own ticket (an adult ticket costs €7).
- For the “Experience a Day on the Farm” program, one chaperone is required (included in the ticket price). An adult ticket must be purchased for each additional accompanying person.
